“Undergrowth”

Matthew Himes and Amy McNally perform "Undergrowth", a new composition for cello, hulusi, and electronics. Video by Jesse Whitney.

The recent Envelop Deep Listening event was a welcome and lovely experience, thanks to Mirror Lab for hosting.

The sound in the room was detailed and incredible, thanks to Dave Eckblad for use of the beautiful custom PA system.

Co-presenter Jesse Whitney was kind enough to record hi-definition video of the full event, so I’m happy to be able to share this document from the evening. Amy and I have chosen to make the full performance of the new song “Undergrowth” available in its entirety on YouTube. It’s an imperfect, but lovely capture of the music we’ve been working on together. Proper recordings in duo formation are currently in the works!
