Reflections on The Golden Hour at Phalen Park

Our recent gathering at Phalen Park Amphitheater last weekend was blessed with beautiful weather, a soft breeze, and glowing light.

Thank you to everyone who came out to share The Golden Hour experience with us.
It means a lot to feel that shared presence, in a space that feels both open and intimate.

🎶 Performers

Crystal Myslajek opened the evening with a moving set of improvisations for keys and voice. Her performance warmed our ears and hearts—it was grounding, emotional, and gently transportive. Crystal brought a sense of balance that helped everyone settle into the moment.

Next was Dustin Krcatovich, performing under the name Golden Feelings. On tour from Ypsilanti, Michigan, Dustin was the only out-of-town guest on the lineup. His music—built from sine waves and pure tones—felt minimal and meditative, like slowly moving through iridescent liquid. It created a sense of stillness that invited deep listening.

Sunset & Music by Visible Light

As Dustin’s sounds drifted upward, I found myself watching the sun dip lower behind the trees, light filtering through the leaves in golden streaks.

Amy and I played last, as our duo Visible Light, sharing two pieces from our upcoming LP, which will be out later this fall. I often lose track of time when we perform, but this moment felt rooted by the space and by Amy’s presence beside me. I’m so grateful to be able to offer this new music in such a beautiful place.

We were lucky to have Vincent Chadwick photographing the evening.
He captured so many small, meaningful moments, times that slip by if you're not paying attention.

Explore the gallery below for a selection of Vincent’s images from the evening.

Thanks again to everyone who attended, and to those tuning in afterward.
We hope to gather with you again soon.

Thanks for listening,
- Matthew
