"Immersion" is a long-form sound work composed over the Summer of 2022, designed to be experienced as a live outdoor performance of eco-music and environmental sound.
Drawing from field recordings and underwater sounds captured at Wood Lake Nature Center and the Minnehaha Watershed, the composition weaves wooden flutes, brass bowls, woodwinds, analog synthesizers, natural sounds, magnetic tape, and electronic processing to tell the timeless journey of water.
"Immersion" is a sonic experience that transports the listener through the elemental rhythms of water, inviting reflection on our relationship with this vital force.
Thanks to Hennepin County Environment & Energy, and Freshwater Society for supporting this work and for helping to bring this project to life.
